British Literature & Composition
This course will focus on literature and writing to prepare the high school student for college. The assignments will challenge students to improve their writing skills, while working to strengthen their ability to communicate their understanding of literature. Through class discussions, students will be guided to closely read and analyze the assigned literature to appreciate both the text and the context in which the works were written.
Writing instruction includes the following essays: narrative, persuasive, compare/contrast, cause/effect, argumentative, and research papers in both MLA and APA format.
Daily grammar assignments will be corrected at home. Writing assignments, grammar assessments, and vocabulary tests will be graded by the instructor.
