This course is for 9th and 10th graders. English Essentials and English Foundtions may be taken in either order, but those students who completed English 9 at NHA in 2020-21 should register for English Foundations for the 2021-22 school year. The major writing assignments for the year will be a comparative essay, short story, argumentative paper, book reports, and poetry. We will also have weekly vocabulary words.
Daily grammar work will be graded by the parent at home. (*You will need to purchase or borrow the Teacher's Edition to do this.) Grammar tests, literature assignments, and writing assignments will be collected and graded by the instructor.
Prerequisites: English 1
