Each week we will be reading from our primary textbook and considering a few big ideas which we will discuss in class. In addition to the textbook, we will be examining some original source documents and reading a small selection of literature exemplifying particular time periods or experiences from our American past. Students may expect reading assignments every week and questions for consideration based on that reading. Students will also write essays based on the books we choose to read and will compile a final thesis in the spring semester.
Suggested for upper level high school students (grades 10-12).
